For athletes from Nieuwerkerk
If you train at Sportpark Dorrestein, swim lengths at the Polderbad or cycle a loop through Hitland, an injury leaves you wanting one thing: to get back to it. That is exactly what this practice is set up for.
A bilingual practice
Gillian is from South Africa. Your appointment can be in Dutch or in English, whichever you prefer.
Sport is her field
Gillian Johnston is an ICSC-certified sports chiropractor and second Vice President of FICS. She worked as a sports chiropractor at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, and she has been working with athletes for close to ten years, in the Netherlands and abroad.
Her experience runs from weightlifting, powerlifting and CrossFit to running, triathlon, gymnastics and martial arts. And anyone who simply wants to keep training without problems is just as welcome.
Three ways to get here
You do not have to take the car.
All three times are door to door. Coming by car? You can park for free right outside the Home4Care building, handy when you come straight from training or work. In the morning rush, allow eight to fourteen minutes. The cycle route is mostly flat.

From ankle to neck
Not every problem starts on the pitch. A selection of what we see:
- Lower back pain, including when it spreads into your buttock or leg
- An ankle you have not trusted since that one sprain
- A knee or hip that starts to niggle when you run
- A neck or shoulder that plays up after strength training or a day at your laptop
- Stiffness that will not ease off between training sessions
- An injury that keeps coming back just when you thought it had gone

Your first appointment
Allow more time for your first appointment than for the ones that follow.
- 01
Your story
Your problem, your sport and how you train.
- 02
The assessment
We look at how you move and where your body compensates.
- 03
The explanation
You hear straight away what we think is causing the problem and what you can do yourself, fitted around your training or your work.
If your problem really belongs with your GP or another practitioner, we will tell you that too.
